What automation product is right for me?

Our automation products are chosen to suit your personal situation.We do not put our customers in a box. Our customer’s needs are as unique are they are.

What happens if I have a problem with my gate?

and one of our friendly staff will do their best to help you over the phone< If we cannot assist over the phone we can make an appointment for one of our service technicians to come out to you and rectify the problem.

Where is the best position to mount the actuator arm/s?

Single gate can be mounted either top, middle or bottom of gate frame.

Double gates are best mounted to the bottom of your gate frame providing the area is not prone to flooding. Mounting the arms to this section will prevent any bending or twisting of the gates when they are pushing up against the ground stop.

Can I get spare parts such as remotes?

Yes, We carry spares for the products we install?

Do any Automatic Gates Systems stock Remote Controls?

Yes, We have a large of replacement remote controls for a variety of manufacturer’s.

What gate size will the gate opener do?

A maximum gate length of 15mtrs

Do we service garage doors?

Yes, We can service and automate roller and sectional garage doors when you have an automatic gate.

Is there an obstruction safety feature?

Yes.

Can I set the gate opener to auto close after I drive through?

Yes, you have an auto close time up to 10 minutes.

How can I pay for products?

We accept cash, Cheque, eft, money order, Visa and Master cards.

What warranty does the product have?

2 year warranty back to base on motor, gear box and control board.

Am able to collect from the warehouse to pick up the products?

Yes, you can drop into our office at “5/2 Melissa st, Auburn NSW 2142″ to purchase and pickup automation equipment. We are a one stop shop for your automation needs.

Are spare parts available for this product?

Yes.

Do Sydney Smart Gates repairs to gates?

Yes, We can repair gates, fence and associated automation equipment.

What is the expectant battery life?

Generally up to 3 years – Battery life comes down to a few factors such as, amount of usage, weather (heat) and for solar, how often it has a full top up charge.

How long does it take to get my gates installed and fully automated?

Your times is very important to you, which makes it important to us. We usually run to time although each project is unique and time frames may differ slightly.

How long will the battery last with solar if there is bad weather?

With normal usage on the gate you could look at 4 days with no sun on the panel (also taking into account other accessories powered by the battery). On standby you will get up to 11 days with medium sleep mode activated or 15 days if deep sleep mode is activated.

My gate is stuck, how do i open it?

at Sydney Smart Gates we can fix any make or model of automatic gate, and we offer 24 hour 7 day a week telephone assistance.

How long does it take for the solar panel to fully charge the battery?

The standard 45 watt panel requires 6 hours of full sun to have the 12v 14ah battery fully charged.

Does the gate opener have a manual release?

Yes.

How many remotes can I have tuned to the gate opener?

1024 remotes to the standard on board receiver.

What maintenance should I do on my gate opener?

The manufacturer recommends checking the oil level periodically by removing the oil level screw and refilling the gearbox. We do recommend keeping an eye out for insect or bug infestation on the main control board as well as checking the nylon racking every so often to make sure there are no worn teeth or that the racking has dropped over time.

Is this kit supplied with full DIY instructions?

Yes.

What distance will the remotes work from?
With our standard remotes you could get appproximately 50mtrs taking into account line of sight to the gate and area interference. For a longer distance our long range option could get you up to 400mtrs.
Can I place the push button at the house?
Yes, you would have to wire the push button back to the main control box.
Can I run both solar and transformer at the same time?
Yes.
Can I change my gate opener from solar to electric at a later date?

What happens if I have questions when installing?
